Whats it look like?

I want to put in a new head unit, most likely a MP3 but I am worried it will look to strange in that big opening.

I know that they sell adapters but can some of you guys email me some pictures so I can see how it looks?

Thank you

Re: Whats it look like?

Don't take this the wrongway.

It looks out of place there. Something better has to be delveloped like the ones that Pioneer (I believe made). Your car looks sweet and I think that I got the tail light ideal from you a while back. Its just the stereo doesn't fit in nicely.

Till I find something that looks right I think I'll just leave the factory one in.

Thank though.

Re: Whats it look like?

Yeah they make Double DIN radios that wouldn't look like crap there. Jenson, Pioneer, Kenwood, and Clarion make some...

This Kenwood unit looks alright. http://www.cardomain.com/item/KENDPXMP4070

That Kenwood looks sweet. A little pricey but worth it I think.

Re: Whats it look like?

Actually that's the cheapest Double DIN on Cardomain. Good luck finding one of those.

EDIT: just checked Ebay, these things are on sale for $200-$250. And they're buy now!

Anyone want a new radio, this looks like a great chance!

Re: Whats it look like?

You do realize that a Double-DIN will not fit without a bunch of custom work...

The Factory radios are 1.5 DIN sizing.. I believe only Pioneer and Alpine made 1.5 DIN units, and I don't know if any of them are made anymore.

Thus the "easy" install of the 1 DIN units with an install Kit, or custom mounted like mine.

No harm, no foul either on that comment, to each their own on styling.

Does any one know the model numbers of these? Pioneer and Alpine.

Re: Whats it look like?

I believe Crutchfield carries one or two 1.5 din models, I remember Classic Industries had a few in their catalogue too.

However, I don't think the dash kits for our cars are half bad, here's my (single din) Alpine unit > http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ght/alpine.jpg

Re: Whats it look like?

i don't think that i will look out of place if you get the right spacer kit. The on that i had in my car filled up the remaining space inside of the bezel that was previsouly taken up by the stock radio. I bout it at best buy a while back so i am not sure exactly which one it was but it looked good to me. I would just go with 1 din one because there is so many more aviable.
