What voltage does Rockford Fosgate rate their amps?

The MTX amp I have sitting on the shelf at home (6500D) put out 624 watts RMS on it's birthsheet which is impressive all to itself and then I noticed that was at like 12.5 volts. Makes for a nice strong amp that at higher voltages puts out even more!
Well.. the extra voltage may, or may not help you -- depending on your power supply.. If you have a regulated power supply, what you get at 12V is pretty much what you get.. If your power supply is unregulated, the additional voltage will translate to more power -- at the cost of losing power if your voltage falls below 12V.. I'm certainly not an expert here, but I believe RF had (still has??) some proprietary technology that allowed them to have the best of both worlds -- whether this information is still current, I'm not sure..
