What type of SUB should I get??????
What type of SUB should I get??????
Let me break down what I have in mind. First of all I am getting the Jensen CM 715K receiver. I am also planning on getting two pairs of 6.5" infinity Kappa 63.5 speakers for the doors and for the two spots next to the rear passenger seats. What I wan to know is what size sub I can put in the left rear compartment that comes with the bose system. How about an 8" sub? I don't want a box. I want to put speakers in the stock locations. Also, what type of amp would you guys reccomend for this setup? How should I hook it all up? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Brian

mtx makes a sweet thunderform box with a 10 in it that fits in the compartment in he rear left of the trunk, qlogic also makes a box that holds 2 10s or 2 12s with a custom plastic piece to match he interior of the car.
Thanks for the replies guys. Is there any speakers that fit in the stock location? I just want a small sub that will fit in the stock rear speaker location. What are my choices? As you can probably tell, I have no knowledge of stereo systems. Also, what type of amp do I need to power all these speakers? All help is appreciated. Thanks again,
Brian

Forget the stock location sub. Just stick with a 10" stealth box. You will not lose any trunk space and you will get a much deeper and harder sound out of the well made box. I would also suggest a higher end receiver. What did that reciever cost you???

Matters what sub you get. i have a JL10-W0, its being pushed by a kenwood 628, thats about 150x1.
That should be good for just about all of the 10inch subs in the same class as the W0. By the way a W0 is the JL basic edition, about a $100 for one.
Sounds awesome.

For an amp to power your speakers, get a JBL 80.4 from www.ikesound.com Mine was $120 something shipped.
Also, I highly suggest that you do not get the 3way speakers. The sound will be very very harsh. Stick with a 2way coax.

If your going to buy an amp for the 6.5s then i would get rid of the deck you have. i would go with an alpine with at least two preouts and a sub control. https://www.onlinecarstereo.com/cara....asp?sku=12046
then you would need a 4channel amp for the speakers
and a one channel amp (two channel bridged) for the sub.
i have a phoenix gold- 4300($300) for my 4 speakers and the kenwood-628($150) for the sub.

I am also looking at the Pioneer DEH-P77DH. It has F&R preouts and also a sub preout. It is 45x4. Do I need an amp for the 6 1/2's??? Is there any way that I can get one amp for the whole application? All help is appreciated. Thanks,

Just so you guys know, the mtx tunderform is very nice becuase of space saving yet it does flex because of the material its made out of so if you are into very clean and good sounding bass this isnt the BEST option but not bad. good luck
