Well it finally looks like I will be putting a system in my car. I decided to get 2 12" Kicker CompVR's. I don't know a lot about car audio so what kind of amp do you guys think I should go with? I am on a budget and don't need to wake up the whole neighborhood so keep that in mind

Be sure to get and amp with an RMS above 800 along with some capaciters... With woofers like that you'll be using some serious power.

 

I would recommend a Class-D subwoofer amp from a well known and respected manufacturer.

What type and size of enclosure do you intend to use?

 

I am a Kicker dealer. Those subs have an rms rating of 400 watts. I would use a Kicker 750.1 for dual 2 or a Kicker 850.2 for dual 4. Do the big three and forget the capacitor. They are pretty worthless. I ran a Kicker KX2500.1 in my car for a while and had no issues. Just make sure you have large enough wire and a good battery.
