subs for convertible

subs for convertible

hey guys, i have recently bought a 99z vert. i am currently stationed in germany and resources are kind of scarce over here. a lot of what i'm hearing is that because i have a cabrio (convertible in german) i wont be able to hear my subs through the firewall. anyone with a vertible have any advice?

The Camaro verts I have done had no problem tansfering the bass into the front. Even with the top down. It just takes a little more than a hatch to get the same volume.

sorry no pics it was a while ago. But if I remember correctly there was nothing special about it. It used the same box that a hardtop used. Just dropped in the well.

You have several options... You can put the subs in the trunk well like the hatch cars do... Be sure to add some power to compensate for when the top is down...
You can remove the rear seats and put your subs directly behind you... This will get you the cleanest bass, but you lose the back seats...
If you aren't looking for huge bass... Just put a small amplified bass tube behind the driver's seat in the rear seat foot well...

Personally I'd rather give up my back seat than my trunk...
