What am I doing wrong with my system?

Alright i have 2 10inch alpine type r's and a 2-channel 800watt lanzar amp. I know that the my subs are spose to be really good and loud(from what i've read) but my system doesn't sound that good. Is it my amp? I was gonna buy a more powerfull amp but i wanna make sure thats my problem before i go ahead and buy one. Also would changing my deck help? thanks.

Lanzar isin't usually thought of as being the greatest of quality. Is it the VIBE series? The Type-R's are very good subs. What kind of box do you have them in? Is it properly sealed? And if you are still running the stock deck, I'd switch it out too.

Link didn't work. Firebirdude is totally right. The subs are fine. Don't change them. I"m gonna ask what kind of HU you have. Is it stock? If not, then what is the pre-amp output voltage? If it's not at least 4v, then that may explain it. Maybe you have the gain turned down on the amp. How do you have the subs wired? Are you running one sub per channel or do you have the amp bridged running them in series or parallel? 2ohms, 4ohms? All these things will make a huge difference as well as the enlcosure. Which I can't see due to the link not working. But I have lots of guys running 10" Type Rs in milhouse boxes and they absolutely rock when wired up correctly with some decent power.

I would say it's a combo of 2 things... one being the amp and 2 how it's wired.

for one thing you have good subs, but a bottom-of-the-barrel amp. I'd look into a jbl 600.1 or 1200.1 amp, and wire the subs in Parallel and into the amp.

well i made a cd with a bunch of rap music with a lot of bass and it sounded great I guess it was my mistake to play led zeppelin to test it out
I'm gonna check everything you guys listed and make sure it's the best it can be right now. Thanks and sorry to clutter up the board.
