Wanting to add sound dampening + new carpet...save weight?

I'm trying to figure out what would be best to meet my goals. See, I was thinking of getting rid of all the OE insulation and replacing it with something more efficient, like Second Skin products, possibly some Overkill PRO and Heatwave PRO. Also, with aftermarket carpets, I can go with the lighter-weight "polyback" carpet, rather than the heavier "massback" carpeting (nothing vs. thick rubber backing). I don't know the weight differences of the carpet yet, but I'm wondering, would I be okay if I just used a spray-on sound dampener for the floorpan, like Spectrum, on both the interior and exterior metal, or will I need to include a product like Damplifier PRO? If I can get away with it, I was thinking of putting Damplifier PRO on the doors and trunk only (to save weight), and then give the entire interior several coats (3mm thick is ideal) of the Spectrum spray-on dampener on the interior and exterior of the vehicle. As mentioned before, I'd also be adding Overkill PRO and Heatwave PRO on top of everything as well...

Oh, I'm looking in the long run. I plan on adding more weight in the future (turbo, 12-bolt, etc), so I want to reduce any extra weight I can without sacrificing too much. I'd rather like to avoid having a 4200lb Camaro...

Just FYI, I just contacted the manufacturer, and the mass-back carpet weighs 46 lbs, while the poly-back weighs only 17 lbs. They say the mass-back is more "user friendly, in that it can just be slapped in without problems, whereas with the poly-back, you have to let it "settle" once out of the packaging and "work" it a little bit to get it to fit perfectly. Is the 30 lb weight savings worth it?
