Upgrading speakers/amp on my DD (not f-body). Need suggestions!

I am going to use an Infinity Basslink (self powered) amp, and here are the suggestions I got for the speakers:

"Get a decent 4 channel respectable amp, 2 way components for your doors (5.25") and coaxials for the rear (6.5"). This will yield a major improvement over your stock system."

I am not looking into spending a ton of money on this, but I am looking for good/reliable parts since music is on all the time in the car and I drive a lot. If anyone can suggest specific model and part numbers for those sizes, I'd really appreciate it.

The basslink is a self powerd sub, correct? But yeah, you will need a decent 4ch amp, probably one with 60watts rms x 4 or more. Infinity, Alpine, Kenwood, MTX, or Rockford Fosgate all make good, RELATIVELY inexpensive amps in that range. A good set of components up front all depends. I could recomend you a set of speakers that I think sound great, but you might put them in and think they sound like crap. It doesnt really help you out that much, but the best way is to try to listen to the speakers in person somehow. Thats the only way to tell if YOU are going to like them. But yeah, components up front and some coaxials in the rear would probably be great for ya. Some people may say to get rid of the rear speakers completely, but PERSONALLY, i really dislike the way that sounds. I have 75% of my music coming out of the front speakers, but I still have some coming out of the rears. TO ME it just sounds weird with no rear speakers in there. I guess I like sound coming at me from all around when im in my car.

I'm EXACTLY the same way. I have two speakers in the Camaro (and 2 subs courtesy of previous owner) and I still miss the rear speakers. I've had good luck with Alpine and Pioneer speakers before, but I would still appreciate your suggestions even if you think they're biased.
Thanks a lot!

PS. Yes, the basslink is self powered.

Well, some good components are Alpine Type-R's or Polk/Momo MMC's. At least those are the two that I personally am looking at putting in my car. LS1RULZ(white rascal) has some Type-R's and he likes them alot, they sounded pretty good to me when i hear them in a store, but ive yet to hear in person the Polk/Momo MMC's, and lots of people have said they are awesome. Either set you go with, they also have coaxials of the same type that you can put in the back. Plus, there are lots of other good choices out there, so dont take my word for gospel, because im a pretty relative newcomer to car audio.

IMHO, Eclipse, Boston Acoustic, MB Quart or Focal's components are really worth searching them long and hard at a good price. I have Boston's in one car, Eclipses in other; they are killer. You don't need expensive coaxials for the rear. Nice amp can be picked up pretty cheap on ebay; especially if it is not in perfect cosmetic shape. Look for JL (like 300/4), MTX, RF.

in my honest opinion you do not need a 4channel amp in the car unless you are using it to clean up the signal. the infinity basslink II is a good setup i insatll them all the time BUT it is NOT a lot of bass.. not enough bass to justify a 4channel amp to make the overall volume louder.

now the 4channel amp WOULD help if you want the extra clarity out of your front speakers but to use it for anything other than that is a waste of money in your case.
