Two Questions about PAC converters

My HU is nice, but has only 1 pre-out for subs. I need one more to run external amp for fronts, so I am looking at PAC SNI-35 or PAC OEM-2. My questions:
1) Can it be connected to HU output without having a speaker in parallel?
2) Will it sound like total crap (may be it will be better to run fronts directly from HU)?
I need your help! Thanks!

If it were up to me I wouldn't use either. I'd get a new HU instead. If you really insist on keeping your HU then an in-dash EQ with it's own crossover and pre-outs would be the way to go.

Re: Two Questions about PAC converters

Thanks! I really appreciate your advice. Seems to be I'll wait until my HU go south, and then swap it with something RCA-friendly. It doesn't help that it 1 1/2 din already, not much place to fit EQ in there
