I would only run one set of components up front. You could use the other midfor rear fill, but it won't be timbre matched to the front. When you run more than one pair of speakers in any frequency range you will begin to get mixed imaging. And if they are different brands they will need to have different equalization, and will never really sound the same. I personally would mount them in your a-pillars or in a set of tweeter pods that fit in that little corner area on the doors near the side window defrosters.

I agree with what's been said above. One pair of tweets is enough. And if you happen to need a pair of tweet pods that Red Rally mentioned fit inside the mirror brackets, I saw a set for sale today.

It probably depends on your taste. I personally like a surround-sound type setup, with full-range audio coming from all directions. Makes me feel like I'm in the middle of a concert all the time.

I have my front tweeters mounted on the plastic triangles where the manual side-view mirror controls would be.

The rear ones are mounted with double-sided tape on some Dynamat right next to the woofers in the stock location. With the speaker grille on, you can't see them, but they would be visible with it off.

I really like how it sounds this way!

That's exactly what Megabass and I were talking about.

Many people do like this, but it's a personal preference. I will say that it IS frowned upon in competition and among strict audiophiles. It destroys any attempt at good imaging or soundstageing.

If you want surround sound, put a pair in the back and a pair in the front. If you don't keep one pair and sell the other. SShevy (Kevin) makes the pods. He's the moderator for the electronics forum on LS1.com . He's a great guy, but he doesn't always have them in stock. Make a post saying your looking for them, SShevy sells them for $75 + shipping. I have been considering making some, but I don't wanna eat away at Kevin's business. He's a great guy and does it mostly as a favor to Fbody owners.

Just to clarify, Texan, I didn't use any special pods to mount mine in the front. I just drilled a hole in the stock plastic and mounted the tweeter flush against it.
