Thumbs up Tweeter Placement

Hey guys I have two sets of Polk component speakers. I have already done the rear install but I plan to do the front install this weekend. Are there any other camaro owners in here that have done tweeters in the front without a lot of custom fab? If so where? Any pics would be great

Thanks
Sully

Re: Tweeter Placement

I used the angle mount brackets with my tweeters and mounted them in the small black triangles toward the front of the door at about ear level. I only had to drill a .25" hole for the wires instead of a +1" hole for a flush mount.

Do you have a pic by any chance? I considered the angle mount but I don’t know how it was going to look.

I assume this is where you were talking about. Where on a-pillar did u do a flush mount. Are you tweeters facing the winshild or towards the inside of the car or are they facing kinda down and out? If you could take my picture and go into paint and just draw somethign so i can see where you mounted your that would be great.

Re: Tweeter Placement

if you mount them away from the mid range you hurt the overall quality of sound. if at all possible keep the tweeters as close to the mids as possible. i put my tweeters right by the mids in the door. if you take off the door panels,(which you will have to replace the mids) you will see a small circle cut out if the backside in the cardbord. this is where i mounted my tweets and it was super easy because the hole is already there. if you top mount like the pics you take the chance of hurting the quality of sound and drownding out the system with your highs.

Re: Tweeter Placement

Yeah i realised that i would have timing issues if i mount them there. At the same time i wanted to try to keep peoples legs form blobking them. Thanks for the input

yes- the a-pillar. i have the driver side sort of facing up and the passenger side facing towards me. they are at the bottom part of the a pillar- that is the only place that had any room behind it. the car is parked, but i will post a pic for you later on.

Re: Tweeter Placement

Put some pics of the installed tweets up if you could please. I am still runing my bose speakers because I have not seen anything I like for mounting components.

I also did this and so far have no complaints. The highs don't drown out the mids noticeably at all. Pics will be coming soon.
