Trouble with new deck and sub

I just brought a car and i tried to replace the deck that the previous owner had installed with mine, but when I change out the deck all the speakers work except the 10in sub. Ive hooked up all the necessary cables e.g. everything that was connect to the deck being replaced. What could be the problem? And how do I fix it?

what deck do you have? that might help a little bit in determining what it is. I know My Pioneer by default has the Sub output off from the factory. Perhaps you just have to go through and set the head unit up properly in order to use the Sub output.

and the amp has power to it and is on? (just covering all bases). If the channel is on and it is inputting into the amp which has power then it should work. unless there is something that is being missed somewhere...

Yeah check your Turn On lead to your Amp. I know on my Pioneer there are three pre amp spots. One is for rear speakers one for front and one for Sub. Double check to make sure you connected the preamp to the right set. Turn off the unit and hold down the Audio Button ( i think its that in your model) Change thru that menu till you get to the pre amp output seetings. Make sure the pre amps are set to Sub. Make sure all connections from Amp to Sub are good. Check Amp Fuse. Are you sure all of your speakers are working? Fade to back and make sure they are working. Theres alot of stuff you can check but start easy and work your way up. Verify connections and HU settings. Go over what i said and if still isent working we can work from there.

Re: Trouble with new deck and sub

I've figured out what may be the problem. The RCA cables are all hooked up correctly but there one cable connect to the amp from the original deck. I'm not an expert on car electronics so I have no idea as to what that cable could be.
