Trouble with factory alarm

Hello, I have a pretty ridiculous problem I am hoping to find some guidance on resolving. I have a 1997 Z28 I just purchased not even a month ago. Everything on it is stock at the moment. For some reason whenever I am getting in or out of it or opening the trunk the alarm will just go off for some reason and I have to shut it off with the remote clicker. The weird thing is the remote does not lock or unlock the car automatically when either button is pushed. I am lost!

Re: Trouble with factory alarm

sounds to me like the wiring could be messed up...

locate the remote entry box and check all the connections and make sure thsay are all going to the right spot...

you might try matching the remote with the pcm again. this may help.

Re: Trouble with factory alarm

Hey don't know if you are still having this issue but on my 99 if I used the key to unlock the door the alarm would go off after 8 seconds. I found out from my manual that this is a factory setting so you might want to look in your manual I don't have the car anymore otherwise I would tell you where to look. Hope this helpd
