The FIRST rule of car stereo is....
ALWAYS REMOVE THE FUSE FIRST!

The first thing I would do is remove the caps to see if everything goes back to normal again. I'm not sure exactly why you would have a hum problem after installing the caps. Do they have a display on them?

Yes the fist rule is to ALWAYS REMOVE THE FUSE FIRST LOL!!!!.......im a dunmbass lol......i was a little excited and wanted to put the caps in....it slipped my mind ...yes they have the digital display for the voltage and neon rings w/flashing LEDs....page two on my site u can c them.....
i removed the caps and put my old ones in ...if i remember corectly i still did it.....

eliminator....how did u run the wired....most the time u run the RCAs on the oposite side of the car of the power wire...if u run them together u hear a hiss or a swirl as u drive .........i dunno my problem..........

do u think that i can trun my radio off take the remote wire of the amp and jump the power to the remote to have the amp on then run the RCAs from my buddys radio(he has very long RCAs) to my amp and c if that the problem...if thats the problem then the HU is fu*ked....thanks guys

CamaroSS30thAnn, What is the brand and model # of the HU. You may have craped the HU. Never play with the power wires with the RCAs still attached to the unit. It can F*** the HU. But you may be ably to work around it.

I would jump out the remote wire and check the amp with your friends HU. If you had the amps ground off of the frame, when you were hooking up the caps the ground path is now through the RCA’s ground to the HU. This will open a trace (the RCA’s ground trace) in that unit. This will give you muting and hum problems on the RCA outputs. If you have a continuity tested or DMM/ohm meter, you can check the RCA by checking the resistance from the outside of the RCA jack to the frame of the unit (with the power DISCONNECTED).
