thoughts on upgrading my sound system?
I dont know a whole lot about this stuff, I'm trying to educate myself on it but there seems to be a lot to know.. and theres so many choices that it confuses me alot
Stock system in my 98 Y87.. I guess it sounds desent for being stock. But I want something more and I finally have the money to do it. I checked out the Alpine SWR-1042D Type-R 10'' Sub.. Im thinking of getting 2 of them. Found it on eBay just now. I guess speakers and amps are my main concern, anyone know what amp might be good for these subs? What else do you recommend? Or whats in your Camaro?
I'd want nice clear sound and a lot of bass.. and Ive been looking online all night trying to figure out whats good and whats not, and where the good deals are. I was going to go to the Stereo Shop but someone said theyre pretty expensive and the best deals can be found online.

This site has a lot of good literature there. Definatelt need to match the amp and subs. Also depends on what kind of bass you want. Do you want everyone to hear you or do you want better bass response and only care what it sounds like from the driver seat? Also how much are you willing to spend. There is soooo much info out there and its a lot to digest but its out there.

if you get a amp buy it brand new cuz a amp can look like it works but not work. used subs are always good to buy because they are already broke in. rockford, phoniex gold and ppi are good value brands sony isn't
