Lucky you, I just upgraded to a 6500 today. I'm VERY impressed with this amp. My birth sheet has it rated at 405 Watts at 4 ohms (.331 THD) and 625 Watts into 2 ohms(.421), all at 12.5 Volts DC. FREAK!

The sound of the amp is very nice, although you can tell where MTX cuts back to save you money. If you look at say a JL 500/1, and look at all the sound adjustments on it and then compare it to the MTX 6500D, you will see a huge difference in quality tuning ability. That being said, if you had this hooked up to a crossover, where you got those controls, you wouldn't be lacking anywhere. The power this thing puts out is top notch. Minty!

PS. I recommend Infinity subs
Your amp isn't a freak . All of them are WAY underrated. I have a Thunder 304 and it's rated at 37.5 x 4W RMS @ 4 ohms @ 12.5V DC. Well, my spec sheet shows 69 x 4W RMS @ 4 ohms @ 12.5V DC. I love MTX. I also have an 8302 for my 12" 8000 sub. Can't remember the specs for it but it's putting out a lot more than what it's rated at. Plus their customer support is outstanding. I reccomend them to everyone.

BTW, Infinity subs sound good, but can't handle heavy hitting and lots of power. But they have great sound quality in a well built box.
