System Sounding Crappy Help Needed!

I have A 94Z and I Put in a cd player out of a 99 z28 with a lil modifaction to the brackets. I only have 4 stock speakers and im not sure what size they are. I put in one 10 Inch Kicker Vr in a kick panel type box in the trunk with a 400 watt amp and i seem to be getting some vocals out of the sub. I cant mess with the sub output on the cd player becouse the bass nobe just messes with all the speakers. I have another question since christmas is soon I need to know what kind of speakers to get to replace the factory. I want it to sound really good i dont need it to bump or anything i just want it to sound pure and smooth. Any suggestions Welcome.

Thanks Max

First of all, all of your sound starts at your head unit or radio. The cheapest aftermarket radio is an upgrade from factory. If you need new door speakers I suggest you go to your local stereo shop and listen to what they offer. you get what you pay for, so don't be too cheap or you will be replacing them again soon.

there should be a low pass - high pass switch on the amp, switch it to low pass and that will take care of the vocals through the sub.
