Subthump stealth box questions...
For anyone that may have one of these or could help me at all...
planning on buying a single passenger side 10" stealth box.. since i have a convertible i can only get the passenger side one, but wondering about the air space for one.
Im assuming this is a sealed box? The site doesnt seem to mention anything about the airspace or if its sealed, ported or bandpass?
The website mentions Alpine Type R as working well with it, but id really like to put a JLAudio W7 or an Alpine Type X, just wanted to make sure it will fit and the box wouldnt be too small for it.
It also mentions some trimming is required, for those who may have one of these.. is that trimming the plastic removable piece that covers the spare tire/jack? I dont really want to cut or trim any non removable part of the car.. the plastic piece im sure would be easily replaced should I decide to get rid of the sub...
Thx for any info

Re: Subthump stealth box questions...
It says right on the web page for the Stealthbox enclosures that they have .6 cubic feet of internal volume. Of course they are sealed boxes because there is barely enough room for the speaker. There is no way of adding a port unless you do like I did and add a Scan Speak "Flow Resistant Vent" to the rear wall of the enclosure.

Yes, you have to trim the panel over the spare tire and jack. The photo used on SubThump's web site is of my car.

I originally had a JL 10W3 sub in one of these enclosures and I was VERY disappointed in the sub's performance. I switched to the 10" Alpine Type-S subwoofer and it totally out performs the JL sub. While the JL is a great sub it just didn't perform as well as the Alpine in an enclosure this small.

I wonder if it has enough depth for the W7? That's a huge magnet that hangs way back. I don't think it will because on his site, he specifically mentions that W3s and W6s fit, but not the 7.
