Question Monsoon HU

As with everyone's Monsoon system, my front speakers have been toasted, however, my subs and rear mid's are still working perfect, I've heard you can still replace the Head unit with aftermarket and keep the rest stock, Since I dont want to find rip out the subs and all that and spend $500+ on a MTX thunderform and an amp on top of that plus 4 new speakers including an aftermarket head unit. If I replaced the two front speakers and Head Unit with an aftermarket, Would the monsoon amp and rear components still function correctly? I heard that the only speakers run off the amp are the Subs and rear mids and the front speakers are directly ran off the head unit.

Re: Monsoon HU

i tried it and it sounded terrible.....very low quality sound....when i had my 1995 z28 with the bose, i could use a aftermarket head unit and it sounded . the monsoon blows if any speaker goes bad.. i finally broke down and replaced everything in my car, bc the monsoon speakers are so expensive, and i just dont trust used monsoon speakers.

kenwood flip-face

kenwood 600x1 amp

(4) 6 1/2 polk audio db's (i unhooked the rear speakers in the hatch) i ran wire back to the four speakers.
