Subs won't stay on

I just hooked up two 12" Eclipses to a Jenson 680 watt amp. The problem is that the subs won't stay on after a certain level. and the red light comes on, on the amp. any advice? thank you

Re: Subs won't stay on

What is the impedance of your subs and how do you have them connected to the amp? It sounds like your amp is going into protection mode because the subs are presenting too low of an impedance for the amp to drive.
