is this sub fixable?

is this sub fixable?

i have an older model jl 10w6 and the foam like rubber that conexts the woffer part of the sub to the otter ring is coming off. if i take it to an audio repair shop you think they could fix it or replace the foam?

I wouldn't trust any ole shop to do the repair. Send it to JL and let them do it. Who knows, if they decide it was a defect in the materials used they may fix it for free. That's happened to me (different problem though) with a set of Polk Audio speakers that were in my wife's car. And this was after the warranty had expired. How's that for customer service?

when I called JL about a similar issue they told me just to toss the speaker and mailed me a new set for free
