I've read a few threads, and I think i may have stumbled onto something. It seems to me that every Camaro has an amplifier. My stock system was the base model, or so I thought, until I saw the little black box in my trunk. Does anyone else who has a base system have the amp as well?

 

I own a 96 firebird, but mine came with the stock 4 speaker system. I have torn that car apart. No amp.

 

I think all GM stereos are a consipiracy to force people to accept sub par performance for a premium price. Every car my family has bought has not had a premium stereo since for ever. I always install a small system for approximately the same price and get far better results. Can't wait till my mom gets her new Caddy, I'm gonna get to go nuts with fiberglass and vinyl in the trunk. I think I have her talked into single 12" so it's not too loud (***whispers "Brahma"***) and some Focal Poly K's upfront. She'll be the only 50 yr. old woman with a Brahma in the world, LOL .
