Thumbs up Custom Trunk

This is a great idea for a Trunk, has anyone seen it before, and about how much would it cost to build? I especially like the idea that I can still use my T-tops.

Nobody has any input? That's hard to believe, how hard could it be to build yourself. The sub box as about $130, I am getting a JL 10" W6 woofer to fill it. But I love that amp rack. How long does it take to build, does anybody else have it?

If it's all wood I would suspect around 8 hours to make it and less than $30 in supplies. If it's fiberglass the probably twice that on time and thrice that on supplies.

Yes I have, but are they a real company? I was going to get my sub enclosure from JL, I saw subthump has one but not to sure on the build quality though.

Any input?

Subthump is great. Steve makes some of the best boxes I've ever seen. He really is a great box builder. If you're trying to save money I would go with his 10" stealth over the JL plastic contraptions. I would choose the fiberglass JL over his box though. From what I hear he will be offering 10" and 12" fiberglass enclosures in the near future with more volume than the JL so you can actually run some different drivers.

i just dont like the idea of a wooden box going along with the molding, so I bought the mtx thunderform. The jl is a very nice box too, but it costs a pretty penny. If i had the money id get the jl

Well, I think I'm going to go in the Fiberglass direction. I am going to test out some fiberglassing and make some custom speaker pods for the front, the rear sides, and the trunk. Along with a custom sub enclosure with an amp rack, I want to make it as clean as possible. Oh yeah, and som mounts for a new center dashboard, and an LCD screen mount. Al fiberglass will be the same color as my car, Fire Red.

Pics by the end of summer.
