stock cd player probs

stock cd player probs

i have a 97 trans am with the single disc cd player head unit, when i bought the car, it played all cd's.. anything i burned..mp3's..etc.. but now it only plays real cd's.. burned cd's that it used to play no problem it spits out now.. wtf gives?...any ideas to what would cause it to all of a sudden not play burned cd's?..i know its not the cd's..they work in all my friends players so i dunno..its f'ing annoying!

The stock headunits often break down over time, either laser eye or the cd holding mechanism. I've heard the cd cleaner kits don't do jack. A new headunit is what you need. I have the same problem, more skipping & spitting out cds - you're right it's VERY annoying

i mean the cd player works fine with regular cd's..it just wont play burned ones anymore and it used to.. dont see how the laser could just be broken and not playign certain types of audio ..i dunno.. but its gona be trashed soon gettin an mp3 player very soon hopefully

typically burned cds require a faster spinning player, and most of our stock systems can't keep up with this, that's why regular cds, which are recorded at slower speed with higher quality equip & cds can be read easier... sounds like we both need new decks.
