Stock Cassette to Stock CD?

Stock Cassette to Stock CD?
I have a 95' Formula firebird, I was at a junk yard checking out parts and I found a mint 95' Trans AM with the Cd player option, leather, full body. I really don't know why the car was junked, as far as I could tell the only thing wrong was it had no engine or transmission.
Anyways, the button layout is different on the CD player Trans AMS steering wheel. Yet I also notice that my uncles 2002 SS Camaro's steering wheel he has a smiliar button layout yet they say different things, like instead of cassette it says CD.
I just want to have a CD player because I don't own any cassettes. And my previous car had a CD player, so I'm kinda bummed.
I still think the buttons rule. Could I buy a 95' stereo, hook my buttons up to it and just get new buttons from the stealership?
How much would the stealership charge for new buttons? I'd call but you know how they don't like to pick up their phone on sundays .
BTW, this car is really fun to drive.

I have a 96 formula and I did what you are wanting to do. Mine don't say cassette or CD though on the steering wheel. I do know that I priced those buttons and the dealer told me $160 per side. So good luck on that, but otherwise they'll just plug and play.
