Stock Bose stereo not working

I have a 95 Z28 with the stock Bose CD player. When I turn it on, most of the time all I get is a loud pop from the speakers. Every once in a while it will work fine for a little while, then it pops and no more sound. I pulled the HU and none of the wires were loose. Any other ideas? I am getting tired of listening to road noise.

Re: Stock Bose stereo not working

Mine did the same thing on my '96. I took it in to the dealer, and since it was way out of warranty, they recommended a shop here in San Diego. They removed the unit and replaced it with a new one, for about $125, as I recall. I've since parted company with that car, but my point is it may be something internal that can't be fixed by the owner.
