93 stock bose- When I put a CD in, it goes in and out fine. It just will not play anything. Am I doomed to replace the unit, or is there something I could check or fix. THNX

 

I just posted a reply on about the same subject, but his cd wouldn't eject. Mine did both (stock 93 as well), it would not eject or play the cd. Sometimes it played occassionally, but ultimately it stopped altogether. My advice is dump the original (keep it somewhere if you want the nostalgic thing) and get yourself something new and reliable, and you'll spend less money (had a quote from Chevy that a new deck was $600. WTF?) For that price get a new deck and speakers. I understand that the originals are powered speakers / don't work with normal decks - could be wrong. But my original 3 speaker system was crap anyway. Hope that helps.
