Wink Stereo Guys in here, advice needed

I need to replace the stereo on my 94 Camaro. I removed it (pain in the ***) and now am looking for another one to replace it. I have no expirence with car stereos and I wanted to know if any can fit in the slot, or is there some certain size requirement or code ? I am looking for something with a CD player that will cost me less than $150 (new, not used). Any ideas on what I should get, or certain brand names to watch out for, any tips?
The Stereo I removed was the stock: Bose CD player Stereo with Delco Loc II, I had to remove it because it would flicker on and off constantly...
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

This thread has a ton of info about the monsoon system. Much of which applies to the Bose system. The stereo you removed is a little larger then most. It's called 1.5 din. Normal Cd players are 1 din. Use on of these Metra dash kits:
99-3300 - Chevy/Olds/Pontiac 1994 and UP dash kit (flush)

99-3009 - Camaro/Firebird 1993 and UP dash kit (flush)

This will allow you to use a 1 din CD player. You will also need a wiring harness and antenna adapter. You can find both of these at any local store that sells car audio gear.

Here's a link to crutchfield for the cd players....if you order one from here, they will send you everything you need to install the cdplayer, (instructions, adapter kit) You can also click on the what fits my car, and it will customize the website to just show stuff that fits your car. I highly recommend Crutchfield. They are a little higher on there stuff, but the quality of service is out standing. If while you're installing the cdplayer you run into something you don't understand, you can call them and they will walk you step by step through the entire installation.

might have to cut a paste this if the link doesn't work

Okay thanks for the info so far guys!
I got a Dual 45W x 4 CD Deck today along with the wiring harness, and Antenna adapter. It all works! Now, my only problem is locating a Dash Kit for it. Anyone know where to buy these? And are they simple to install or do they require special cutting to fit the radio. Thanks...

Check Circuit City, Best Buy, Wal Mart, any car stereo shop.

You do not know anybody that works at best buy dirt cheap. You can get the kits from Best Buy. Just go to there install bay and ask for the kit and antenna adapter. Installing it with a wiring harness should be no problem. Just make sure you make clean connections when connecting the wires so you won't have bad luck and have to redo the whole thing. Go to the website earlier listed, www.installdr.com and match up the wires. Good luck!
