Cool Stealthbox for my Convertible - Drivers side rear seat cushion

Stealthbox for my convertible

10" driver, vented - I made this myself from wood and fiberglass; fits behind the driver's seat, in place of the rear seat cushion. The box can be lifted out and the cushion dropped into place if I need to use the rear seats for the kids. The box fits in the trunk easily.

The dimensions are tight - it couldn't be 1/4" larger in any direction. The seat go back just far enough for me (@6').

This would also work for T-top cars.

great work man, looks like a professional job! i especially like the ease of swapping it out with the regular seat cushion..

do you have a lot of experience with glass? or was this a one time thing?

I've patched a few boats and a fiberglass motorcycle fairing, and use epoxy glue for other projects. The trick is mixing the right amount for the job at hand.

This is the first sub box I have built, glass or otherwise. I did have a professional speaker builder help me pick the driver, amount of stuffing, and dimensions of the slot port, helping me get it right in one try.

The driver has loosened up a bit more, and the box is rolling off at about 24 Hz, according to the speaker guy. He's advised me to pull a chunk of stuffing out to see if we can get the port to work bit harder.

Now to replace the factory speakers with component drivers....
