4x6's? I assume you're referring to the 4x6's in the dash of a 3rd gen f-body? I doubt that it can be done. Not without doing some major surgery to the dash anyway. Have you looked into kick panel speakers instead?

Kick panel speakers don't go in the doors. Did you click on the link?

Back when I had an '85 Firebird SE (and later a '91 Firebird) I used Polk Audio MM-4060 (I think that was the model number) 4x6's in the dash. They were a dual cone style speaker that could handle 50W. I had them high passed at 100Hz @ 12dB/octave. I was going to try a 3" plate style speaker but the car's AC duct was under the driver's side speaker and was molded to fit around the magnet of the factory speaker. Since the plate speakers I was going to use were offset they wouldn't fit. The only way to get them in would have been to use a heat gun and re-shape the duct work. The only options you really have are another set of 4x6's, kick panels or have some custom speaker pods made for your doors.
