Speaker Distortion/Noise probably easy

Hey guys,

since i bought the new whip ive had this annoying problem but really just havent had the time to fix it, and its definately time to go. Im not a newb w. electronics and stereo components but this one kinda has me stumped, basically whenever the car is running and the radio gets turned on i hear an annoying whistling/ticking/crappy noise through the speakers mainly the front left but still comes out through all the others, now if the radio just runs off the batt (acc mode) its perfect and i hear absolutely nothing, when i turn the key to the on position however (just before starting) i hear like a consistent tick , i would presume this is a ground issue but i dont even know where the radio is grounded i did take whatever grounds i came across under the hood and cleaned them off and reconnected, the Headunit is a pioneer premier mp3 and all the speakers are changed exept for lil bose subwoofer, any ideas guys thanks so much in advanced any light shined on this annoyin lil issue is greatly appreciated

Sounds like your stereo is picking up radiated noise from something. What is the "new whip"? An antenna? If you disconnect it does the noise go away? What does your system consist of as far as amps and such? How is the HU connected to the BOSE subwoofer?

Re: Speaker Distortion/Noise probably easy

ok sorry for not being clear,

its a 94' Z28, i havent disconnected and reconnected the antenna yet will do that i believe that the sub is connected via the rca out's on the HU, not 100% becuase they may just be the old cd changer that the guy left the wires there because in the back there is all kinds of wires but they are mostly disconnected there is no amp right now the speakers are powered from the HU, if all else fails i will have to live with it untill i re-wire everything w. new amp and subs which will probably go in sometime this spring, but thank you for the help
