Sound deadening options and tips?

i know you can undercoat it, use dynamat or equivilent, or use the asphlat shingle thingys, but what it the fast dollar for dollar?

My friend uses the asphalt shingle things in his bird and it is pretty quiet, even though he only did it in the back.

i think i just need a little in the back, since that is where most of the noise seems to come from (rear wheel wells too)
