Sound Dampening

I have a 93 Heads and Cam Z which has a very rough idle, after the latest install of a tubular K-Member and a set of sub-frames the car is much tighter. The exhaust is loud as well and the system also rattles things

By being so much tighter everything in the car rattles now, I have to turn up the tunes to stop from going insane.

Just wondering if anyone has used any liquid sound deadening or dampening products that have cut down on interior noise and rattles.

I plan on completely gutting the interior including the dash and center console and spraying the underside of everything to see if i can stop the noises and cut down interior sound as a whole

I use www.b-quiet.com stuff in mine. It works well but it's heavy. I suggest using the extreme in areas where it's the loudest or rattles the most and use the spray stuff everywhere else. I've got mine in the trunk area and it makes a whole lot of difference in interior noise.

Well, my best experience is to use any sort of ruberized undercoating. On both the inside and outside of the car. It's worked better than dynamat on all of the cars that I've done. Prep is harder because you have to mask everything off like when you paint a car, but I think it's a better way to do it.

Yeah i know this is not going to just be a five minute job where i throw down some sprayable material and everything is just going to be quiet. Just as you stated this is going to be alot of masking off and very time consuming but i think it will be worth it.

I plan to use my buddies lift and undercoat the whole car. Still wondering what exact product to use on the inside. If I use undercoat it is going to smell something nasty on the interior. What product did you use on the inside of the cars that you have done?

I was told that some products by the Cascade company are pretty good. Cascade VB-1X is a sprayable liquid but i just want some feedback before i do my whole car.

Is there any car audio forums that are knowledgeable on this question?

Actually what i normally use and have had really good luck with is just 3M Ruberized undercoating. I've got the whole interior of my car coated, my G/Fs Jetta, and my Brother's truck. None of them smell of undercoating at all.

I know you can get it from wally world actually, but I normally get mine from a "Professional" Auto parts store, the one that supplies all the body shops around the city with stuff.

I ended up using about 4-5 cans to do the interior of my car.. but 3/4 of the hatch area was already done. I could've used more.. but I really got sick of not being able to drive my car with the nice weather that showed up around here.

I know some undercoating stays somewhat tacky, how does the 3M undercoat harden when it is cured?

I have 3M at my work. Maybe I will just play around with it.

Sound deadening liquids are supposed to turn rattles and movements into heat. I am not sure that i buy into that all that much but they make it and people buy it. I just wanna know if it works.
