small sub box right behind seat, on floor? verts..

anybody see/heard of a box that was made for that spot on the floor behind the drivers seat? i have a vert, so there wont be a box in the trunk, and i am not gonna remove all my back seat to put a box there... so i figure, a compromise would be a box that would be even with the back seat behind the drivers seat... my car is pretty much a 2 seater anyways, and if the need arises, i could just disconnect it and throw it in the trunk...

it doesnt allow for a lot of cubes, and an 8 will prolly be the speaker of choice.. i think it will prolly be something like that infinity basslink, just a little more optimized and externally powered.... prolly do it with fiber if i made it myself....

i have replaced the head unit and the surrounding speakers and now it is painfully obvious that i am lacking in the bass department....

comments/suggestions?

Well personally I would remove the backsseats before putting one on the floor. IT really doesn't look bad without the seats, but there are other options. You could make a box to go into the spare tire area, if you don't run with a spare. I myself carry a portable air compressor with some rubber plugs in case of a flat, these items would fit perfectly in the well with a sub. I measured around there and a 12 could be had, with a decent size box. What about the amp where are you going to mount that thing? Another choice would be to make a custom box that fits in the space above the gas tank. There is a guy that sells them, and there is enough room where it doens't hit the top when its down. I really hate giving up space and there is so littel of it back there it makes sub space a pain. Here is a link, just do a search for subbox or post the question, to find the guy if interested http://www.chirpthird.com/ubbcgi/ult...?ubb=forum;f=9

D James,

You don't actually run your tires with plugs in them do you? I was always told NEVER to plug a radial tire. Patches only. Plugs, I've been told, will cause the steel belts in the tire to split and cause the tire to fail.

whoa, i thought this thread was dead...

i thought about the spare tire area, but to get some decent bass with the top down on verts, i think a little more than the stealthbox would be needed...

i think i am just going to get some mdf and fab up a box to fit on the floorboard... just kind of wing it.. i have a p.o.s. 10" sitting around and i'll see if it sounds all right...

thanks for the replies tho... and steve from subthump? is there a website or a phone number?

thanks,
josh
