Simple Amp Wiring Question
I am wondering if there are any tips to picking out the right fuse to go with your amp. I am getting an amp that puts out ~350 @ 2 ohms RMS and I was going to get one of those amp kits (Monster Wires) off Ebay. Does it matter what size the fuse is as long as I get a kit that will handle the power that I am putting thru it?

Quick note. If the fuse size in the wiring kit is too big or small, you could always buy a different size fuse.
Fuse size should be gotten from MFG specs, not from anything else.
The output of an amp Vs it's fuse size varies HUGELY!!
To get into details...It primiarly depends on what type(not mfg) of amp it is and how efficient the amp is. A Class D amp will normally be fused lower than a Class A amp of the same power output. The Class D that is in My GFs car puts out 200Watts RMS less than my Class A/B... but is fused at just over 1/2 what mine is, her sub amp is 80 amps, my sub amp is 120 amp fused.
The Front fuse or circuit breaker (In my case) should be at MAX the toal of all the fuses on all the components that are hooked to that power wire. The Fuse/CB can be rated lower, although don't go too much lower. It's doubtful that all the components will blow their fuses at the same time by drawing too much current. I'm running a 180 amp CB on a total of 2 amps fused at 80 and 120 respectively for a total max draw of 200 amps.
