Rockford Fosgate Omnifi DMP1

anyone got the DMP1 installed in their camaro? I got an LT1 (1994), and asked for the DMP1 for X-mas...from my wife.

I was just wondering where did you install it? How did you install it? I was looking at a few installs, and looks like it works like a cd changer, and i dont have to remove my current head-unit...anything I should know about how the system works, or doesnt work? Thanks for you time!

well, i have been looking for a car digital media player (i do have an cd mp3 player already), or something of the sort, that i could play napster songs on. I THINK that the DMP1 plays that type of file. I am still researching, so its not a definite, but would like to know other peoples installation / suggestions. I know that Rockford may be a walmart quality...but i got a couple kids and a wife to support, so i settle for less than what i would like. As long as the music is coming out the speakers and i can hear it clear, thats fine. I dont want an Ipod, because I dont think they will play the Windows Media files, that I am hoping the DMP1 will play...

thanks for the reply.

ANYONE help me out? thanks.

Not to nag here.. But WMA files can be converted into MP3's or AAC's (MP4)through Itunes very fast. WMA is also a lesser quality file than MP3 or MP4. But anyways i just figured id try to steer you away from the RF. But your reasoning for wanting it is different than what i was thinking it would be. Good luck!

thanks for your input. i choose not to go with the rockford...well, for 1 because you had me doing some research to make sure this is what i wanted...in researching, the player that i need needs to be compatible with 'Napster To Go'...I am looking at either a Rio or Samsung player...i can then download all the songs i want from my Napster account, to the mp3 player, and hook my mp3 player to the cd changer of my car stereo headunit.

not to mention - i have no idea where i would install the Rockford...no room in the car lol

i guess there are certain players that will play the napster to go stuff. thanks again.

I have one in my Mustang (sry not the camaro) and am quite happy with it. My buddy has one but couldnt intergrate with stock headunit he may be willing to sell it at a good price. One thing is if its not securely mounted it will cause the music to skip like a mother

I have the Kenwood music keg and am very happy with it. I also have a kenwood deck but not sure how compatible it is with other HU's. But it does connect via the aux input(used for cd changers). So if you have an HU that is cd changer control, might want to look into it. I have the 20gig cartridge. Holds an unbelievable amount of music.
