i got the alpine CDA-9855 headunit and i can not get the bass to go up

I have this head unit and so does my friend and he has a 15 inch sub with 1000watts going to it but it hardly move

when we raise the volume it hits a little harder but we want what you woud expect from a older head unit (bass up and down settings)

any trick to this thing

how can i download sound settings using Alpine's i-Personalize feature

 

Are you using the correct crossover settings and their appropriate RCA outputs?

 

I've got the same one, but I haven't experimented with it much bc I haven't upgraded my speaker system yet. Everything is still stock. You might try holding the menu button down for a few seconds to bring up the parametric eq, and adjust the individual frequencies from there.

there isnt a bass raise and lower like all the other ones??

It has a subwoofer control. They come set at 0. It needs to be turned up to 15. Push the volume **** till it says subwoofer then turn it up. You can also set the crossover freq and slope. That is a very good radio once you get it set.

The problem with your Alpine deck isn't the bass adjustments, it's the weak pre-out voltage to your sub-amp. Go on eBay, pick up a decent line driver (Phoenix Gold, Audiocontrol etc..) and add that to your system. The entire Alpine lineup is **** poor for line-out voltage.

My friend has the IVA-D310 and he's using an older MTX 2300 amp hooked up to a JL 13W6v2, and he got almost nothing out of that sub even with the sub amp gain pinned (Which is a bad, bad thing). I gave him my Audiocontrol line driver, and that made a night and day difference.

 

I'm looking at this head unit and almost ready to order off of ebay. It has 4 volt pre-outs, why isn't that enough?
