Aftermarket Stereo w/ Monsoon Amp

Hey guys here's my gear:

Sony CDX-MP70 Mp3 Head Unit
Rockford Fosgate FNX2614 6.5" with 3/4" Dome Tweeters
Sony XM3001SXD 1000w 1-Channel Class D Amplifier
Rockford 400s 2 Channel Amplifier
Rockford Amp Link
Rockford 200s 2 Channel Amplifier
MB Quart DKD-116 6.5" Speakers
Rockford RFD2110 Sub running 600w at 2ohms
10" JL-Vantage Sealed Enclosure

Now my question. When I had my front stage speakers installed, they installed it using the factory wiring. Well the front's dont sound the greatest even with the 400s amp running them. Then I got thinking....are these still running off of the monsoon amp as well? I'm not too sure on how they setup the fronts with the crossover's, if their no longer going through the monsoon amp or not.

I purchased the MB Quart's and the 200s but haven't installed them yet until I know the factory amp won't affect them. I'm planning on putting these speakers in the backseat area. Can I take out the monsoon amp without any problems? I know i'll lose the speakers in the rear hatch area but I dont care about those.

So I'm pretty much just wondering if the factory amp is hurting my cause, dont get me wrong my stereo sounds great..but I want to be sure about this before I start buying more powerful amps or speakers to go to the next level.

Thanks for your help or any comments ahead of time guys...thanks

Check out the FAQ's at the top of the Electronics Forum over at www.ls1.com for all the information you could possibly want to know on adding on to the Monsoon system. It's a long thread, but worth the read.

Using factory wiring to install an aftermarket system is NEVER advised. You should always run new wires from an aftermarket amp to the speaker they're powering.

The font door speakers are run off the HU and the Monsoon amp. The tweets are high passed x-over and run of the HU and the mids are low passed x-over and run off the Monsoon amp. Hooking up a set of aftermarket component speakers or co-ax speakers to the stock wiring will eliminate either the high or the lows depending on what wires you choose.

Run new wires.
