removal of monsoon system...

OK, what I want to do is pull the entire monsoon system out and put two new door speakers, new head unit, and a 10" sub in the back. My question is can anyone tell me exactly where everything is located and how to remove it? I am clueless as to car audio and I have friends who have worked on them as well as a shop I could go to but Im trying to stay cheap with this project so any input will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: removal of monsoon system...

what i did was i just ran new wires from my new head unit to my new speakers, the sound was better, and it was the easiest way to do it.

Best thing to do is to get a set of maser sheets for your car. They will give you how to take apart your doors and how to pull your cd plyer out. I can help you with pretty much anything because i re did my whole system and killed the monsoon so if you have specific questions let me know.

Re: removal of monsoon system...

I guess my question would have to do more with the amp since its a self amplified system. I just want every speaker, the hu, and amp(s) out... like I said I have no clue about these Monsoons. How would I get a wiring layout of my car, or what you called master sheets? I looked for a chilton manual at the library for my car but they didnt have anything... anywhere else to look? Thanks guys.

There's no need for a wiring layout. The HU and speakers will all be replaced with an after-market setup and you'll want to run all new speaker wires. Power wires too if you'll be adding an amp. You won't be using the POS Monsoon amp so you can just leave it where it is. If you want to remove it it's located above the rear wheel well forward of the spare tire.

Yeah leave the amp is. The door pannels need to come off for the front speakers. You cna the run the new wires thru the rubber hose that runs al the other wires and up thru your dash to your HU. Rear speakers all you have to do is remove the grill. The run the wires take out the 4 scres holding in the trim panel at the bottom of the door on the inside. To get screws 2 and 3 you will ahve to move the seat all the way up and then all the way back. That will allow you to run your rear wires forward and/or amp wires back. www.crutchfield.com is one of the better places to get your stuff. They also have mastersheets for free if you buy something or if your as good of a return buyer as me. Theres a wealth of info online about what to do. I know someone did a kinda good kinda crappy write up sometime ago about this stuff. One day i will do one when im not so busy.
