If you want to put a remote start on a manual I hope you like chasing your car across a parking lot!!! Someone used to make one that wouldn't start while in gear, now you have to use a remote start for an auto and bypass the clutch start switch. No way in hell I'd do that, you never know what might happen.

Even if I did leave it in gear when it started wouldnt it stall out like if I started it and put it in first and didnt give it any gas it would stall out wouldnt that be the same?

Fuel injection is a wonderful thing. I've seen a wrangler with a remote start on it crank up, hop a curb and climb a hill, with the owner running behind it You're car has more power than a 4 cylinder jeep, believe me it wont' stall out.

I used to handle ins claims for a large company that performed oil changes .

One day I worked on a claim where someone took a Manual T/A
and installed a remote start .

The person took the car for an oil change and after the tech parked the car in the lot and accidently hit the remote start button , the car started and ran in to a pole and died , then the computer in the remote start thought that the car failed to start so it automatically started itself again and hit the pole again ( this happened about 3 times )
finally they stopped the car from hitting the pole .

In the end we ( the Co ins ) did not cover the damages b/c it was not safe to install that on a 6sp car and the owner did not make anyone aware that this was on the car .

Soooo is it safe ? NO
Would I install one on my own car ? Maybe

I remember reading on the boards that someone had successfully installed a remote start on a 6 speed camaro. The remote start would only shut off the car once the ebrake was up and you exited the door, that way the car would HAVE to have the ebrake up with the motor running. So the next time you start the car its not in gear. It also has a bypass mode when you have it valeted.

READ IF YOU WANT A MANUAL REMOTE START CAR.
I have a remote start on my 95Z conv M6. And yea I have heard of all the horror stories about people chasing there cars around after they left them in gear espically from the shop that installed them. He would not install this one until he made sure it was safe.

This is the alarm that I have on my manual. Its great, it tells you if someone is messing with you car. And it has a good range to. I have started mine up about half a mile away so far. It is supposed to do a mile I think. Here is why this one is nice though. You have to program it when you shut it off in order to remote start it the next time. Its not hard and is a cool feature. When you come to a stop you put the car in neutral and pull the ebrake. You then hit the star buttom the the control pad the car beeps one time. You now can take the key out of the ingition and the car will REMAIN RUNNING. You get of the the car and shut the door. The car is still running. You can now hit the arm buttom on the key pad and the car will shut off and the alarm will activate. This is a nice safety feature that ensures you car is in neutral. because if you take the key out of the ingition step outside the car and it is still running then it has to be in neutral right. If you just turn the car off without going threw this process the car will remote start. Also if you do go threw the progam to remote start and go inside and then go back out because you forget something and you just unarm the car to get into it and them shut the door and lock it back up it wont remote start because of the possibility of you putting the car in gear. In other words this is the safest remote start you can get. There is still danger when doing a manual but what can you do. It also gets more attention by remote shutoff then remote start It is sweet. I get out and walk awaywith my car running and shut it off about 50 yards away and people just look like People are always saying its great and they wish they had an automatic and then I say yea I have a manual to. I paid $170 on ebay and $200 to install it for a total of $370. A local shop was selling them for $500 installed. Man I love Ebay.
Here is a link for a bunch of alarm and remote starts but i dont know if they are as safe as mine.

Have any question email me
Oh bye the way I love it.

You can probably follow Bret falkner's alarm install guide and add all of the other bells and whistles with little effort.
