reciever installation
reciever installation
why is that all the cd players on crutchfield say that the player will stick out of the dash about a half inch. Is there any way to fix that and make it flush when installing it or all aftermarket players too big for the camaro?
Re: reciever installation
In some cars, you can cut away whatever is at the back of the opening and fit a deeper deck. It worked in my Oldsmobile that way, and I was able to flush-mount a deck that was an inch too deep.
I haven't had the dash apart in the Camaro to tell you for sure, but in the case of my Olds, it was a matter of cutting off one small plastic tab and then just pushing some wires to the side.

Re: reciever installation
If you don't bust off the plastic piece inside the dash, it will stick out. I busted mine off. It's a little plastic tab that has a hole in it to help align the OEM head unit. If you look at the picture of a GM F-body head unit there's a black plastic nubby thing sticking out. My aftermarket H/U sits flush since I busted off the little plastic tab in the back of the dash.

X2 Bust that plastic tab off in the back and it will sit flush, even with tab off you can put stock unit back in if need be at a later time it will install just fine
