I am about to get some rear speakers for my '89 RS and am looking at the Infinity Reference 6953i speakers. The question I have is that the Infinity site says that they will fit my car. Crutchfield site says that it won't. Which is telling me the truth? I would like to know before I order them. I have some Infinity References for the front and would really like them for the back (call it a perk). Thanks for the help.

 

I think the speaker size for the rear fill on 3rd gens are 6x9. You can check at www.mobiletoys.com they are pretty accurate with their stuff.

Perhaps your car has a depth restriction for speakers that will fit. I'd pull one out and measure how deep you can go. The Infinity web site will almost certainly have details on the depth of their speakers.
