Question regarding 1993 Bose

I have a 1993 with the Bose sound system. I installed an Alpine CD player and everything currently works fine.

What I am planning on doing is replacing the door speakers with some aftermarket ones. I have never messed with these speakers before, and was wanting to know if there is anything specific to them, or are they simply wired up like regular speakers.

Basically all I want to know is will I be able to take them out and swap in some new ones with no problems?

I'm also tossing the idea around of putting some in the sail panels as well, but havent decided yet. I think I'm just going to install the door ones and see what how they sound first.

Re: Question regarding 1993 Bose

Let me know when you find out I'm trying to do the same thing now but I can't get any help. I tried putting the aftermarket speaker in the amp housing and using the green and white wire to hook straight up to the speaker. It didn't work I don't know what to do now I really didn't want to run new wire from the radio to the speakers if I have to do I just splice them in the harness that plugs in the radio please help

Re: Question regarding 1993 Bose

I'm going to be replacing my door speakers next weekend. However, I plan on running new wire even though it's probably going to be a little tricky getting it through the rubber tube between the door & the cabin.

Re: Question regarding 1993 Bose

For my 96' I had to run new wires.... and I used a Wire Fish...

Fronts went through pretty easy with the door wide open.

Rears were super easy sine my amp is mounted in the back so amp is right there - straight access to sail panel area.

Re: Question regarding 1993 Bose

I used a 3/8" piece of pvc tubing from Home Depot & that worked too.
