question about brake light wiring (not an ordinary question)

we all know how when you press the brake pedal, making the car slow down it lights up the taillights, whether running lights are on or not. i want to disrupt this (preferably near the front of the car so im not running 10 feet of wire) so i can make a toggle switch that if i turn off the switch the lights get no signal/power to come on when the pedal is pressed.

yeah its a crazy stupid semi-pointless idea, but i'd really appreciate some input hopefully if someone could just say like "burried under the console there is these wires" or something i think i can handle the whole cutting/splicing thing to hook the switch up once i know which wires.

edit- this might not be in the right forum so i wont be offended if a moderator moves it somewhere more appropriate that i can get more help

The brake switch is located right at the top of the brake pedal. I'm sure there is a main hot wire in that harness you can use. Sounds like you're trying to hide from the cops or something.

the brake wire is a light blue wire at the brake pedal switch @ the brake pedal, you could probably just cut that wire and extend each peice up to a toggle switch in the dash.

Do you do a lot of running away from the cops with your lights off?

actually i havent actually run from a pursuing cop, sometimes they see the fast car and start tailing me.

ive actually had problems with other cars following me (not sure if they are unmarked cops or regular people). worst one was late late at night some guy followed me for 20 minutes, i dont live in the city that was more then coincidence they were going on all those wierd back roads practically in a circle.

anyways its more for ****s and giggles, mess with my friends and stuff like if they are following me.

so heres my next question, is it just as easy to find the wire that lights up the dashboard? (no running lights at night = no gaues either)

man i need to find a hobby instead of doing such strange projects. what can i say i like toying with my car

you could try putting a toggle switch in between the parking light wire, it would work the same as the brake just a second switch, that wire should be brown in the drivers kick panel just find a brown wire behind the kick panel test it with the parking lights off, then turn the parking lights on and it should read 12v, see if that will kill them, you may have to possible do the same to the headlight switch, which would be a yellow wire probably at the switch its self.

I am pretty sure when the e-brake is on your brake lights won't light up. You should be able to pull your e-brake up one click while driving, then apply the brakes without the brake lights comming on.
