Problems after Stereo Install

Hey Guys,

I finally got around to installing my stereo the other night, and I ended up with a few problems.

System consists of:
-Sony Moble ES CDX-C90 Head Unit
-Lightning Audio 1 Farad Cap
-Rockford Fosgate Punch 160.4 4 channel amp for speakers (about 4 years old, but it has alway been mine and always worked fine)
-Rockford Fosgate FRC4306 6 1/2" Speakers front and back (brand new)
-Sony 10 Disc Changer

Not yet installed:
-Rockford Fosgate 800@2 Amp for Subs
-2 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch DVC Subs

Wiring Concists of:
-Rockford Fosgate RCA Cables
-Lightning Audio Power and Ground Wiring
-Rockford Fosgate Speaker Wire (lower end)

Capacitor was charged prior to use. The Power Wire is run on opposite side of car from RCA cables.

The problems are:

1.When the car is running there is a slight buzz from the speakers, but it's not there when the ignition is just in the on position and the car is off. It does not change with volume, and it comes out of all the speakers. I am guessing this is because of the MSD 6AL I have...even though no wires run near it. I know there is some MSD part to take care of this, anyone know the part #???

2. When I fade the sound all the way to the back there is NO sound at all, and when I fade the sound all the way to the front there is still a lot of sound coming from the back speakers...I have no idea what's causing this.

3. When the stereo comes on there is a loud pop. The pop doesn't happen when I turn the car on, but if I have the stereo running with the ignition in the on position, then turn the car on, that's when it happens. Someone told me it is a ground problem? Is this right? I am running my speakers off the 4 channel amp. I am going to re-run the ground wire and see if that clears up the pop.

4. Within the first 5 seconds I turned the stereo on for the first time, one of my brand new speakers crackled then let out a puff of smoke! Now it doesn't work. Everything is wired correctly. It's a new Rockford Fosgate 6 1/2"...all the others sound very nice. I sent it back, but I am wondering what might have caused this? I am now confused whether the speaker was just bad or the amp fried it, I guess I'll hook up a crappy speaker to that output on the amp and see what happens. The amp was perfect the last time I used it, but I took it out of my last car and let it sit for about 2 years.

Other than that the system sounds great, even without my subs hooked up yet. It's nice to have a stereo after being without one for a year and a half.

So that's what I have for you...let me know what you think.

Thanks for any help...I hate electrical problems!

Eric
