Power problem

Ok i have a 97 SS and sometimes when i drive my car audio will just turn off, usually it will turn back on a couple of seconds later. But yesterday it was off for a few minutes. If i can't get it to turn on, i have to turn my car off and start it again. Then my car audio starts again. I have my radar detector attached to the power lines for the cd player so it goes out too. And occasionally when i go to turn my car off, its supposed to leave the power to the windows and radio on but it doesn't. It just shuts it all off even with the doors closed. Any suggestions to my problem?

u might want to check the cables cause they might be drawing too much power.

it could be your RAP module going bad. RAP is Retained Access Power. There isn't a fuse for RAP. I burned mine up and my radio and windows no longer worked. RAP modules are like $200 from what I heard so I ran my own power wire to my radio and windows and I have a switch I turn on and off for them now

**actually I believe RAP was deleted in 96 and the RAP function was built into the BCM so I'd check into that if I were you.

Correct....check all connections to/from the BCM, and if all is well look into the BCM itself being the problem..
