power locks not working

power locks not working

the power door locks dont work , replaced the switch didnt help.. the doors are able to be locked manually, and with key. but the power lock switches for either side of car doesnt work... is there 2 different motors? or if one dies are they both disabled? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Check the fuse. Grab a volt meter and read the power on the lines.

Thanks, I checked the fuse and it is fine. I will check the voltage at the driver side switch this weekend and probably replace both driver and passenger switches since they are so inexpensive.

Also, I have an aftermarket alarm I installed myself. Since this started, my alarm will unlock both doors fine, but will not lock them. I am leaning toward a bad driver switch.

Typically the passenger side switch is the master switch in these cars depending on what year you have. So if the passenger switch is bad both switches will not work.
