popping sound from speaker when ignition turned on

Had an audio shop install an Alpine CDA 9820XM in my daughters 2001 Monte Carlo SS this weekend. This car required the stock stereo to be installed in the trunk and a T-harness due to computer functions (chimes, alarm, oil lite...) going through it. When you 1st turn on the ign or accessory switch a loud pop comes out of the speaker(s). The installer said he was unable to remove it. It happens when the computer tries to communicate w/the stereo & goes through the harness to the new HU & then to the stock unit (pop).

It is a nuisance and doesn't sound right to me. Anyone no if this is true, what is worng or how to eliminate the pop.

Thanks!
