I hate to say this but you have some bad wires, or a kink in them. Mine did this and that will make them pop a little, I don't know the pop you get but that is wat my problem was, I had a bad wire behind my face and that did it.

Turn ON/OFF thumps are common in cheap equipment. What kind of amp are you using?

Your amp may be in need of some fine tuning then. A lot of amps use a timer circuit that keeps the power turned ON for a moment while a relay that connects/disconnects the outputs to the speakers has a chance to turn OFF first. If the power turns OFF while the outputs are still connected you get the popping noise you mentioned. Your amp is a 4 channel right? Is the popping only in the rear speakers? Try connecting the front speakers to the amp's rear channels and see if your front speakers pop as well. If this makes the fronts pop too then my guess, and it's just a guess, is that the amp has a problem somewhere with those channels.

Gotta ask about your ground(s) and your lead turn on wire. Is it coming from your Stereo harness or from some other location like your fusebox?
