Owner says no theftlock code, but light still flashes-is there one

Just a quick question for you guys, I just bought a 01 Ta and the light on the radio for theftlock flashes with the car off, I thought this meant it has a code stored in it? I talked to the original owner and she said she didn't put one in there, and in fact was surprised you can do that. So is there any way to tell if it has a lock out code on it, besides pulling the power and having to go through the trouble of trying to get the code out if it has one.

If the red light flashes then there IS a code stored in it. If you unhook complete power to the radio (unplug it or unhook the battery) it will display LOC and you need the code to use it again. If you do this, hold 2 and 3 (I think) for a few seconds and it will display a number. Write it down. then press the AM/FM button and it will display another number. write it down. Post the two numbers and I can tell you the unlock code.
